What notice period applies to my gym contract?
It is stated in your contract or the gym’s terms – check them before you send the letter. If in doubt, cancel “at the earliest possible date”: the gym then has to confirm the correct end date to you.
Can I cancel by e-mail?
Many gym contracts can be cancelled in text form, so a digitally signed PDF sent by e-mail is often enough. Check the cancellation terms of your contract to be sure and keep the sent e-mail as proof.
Can I cancel early, e.g. when moving or for health reasons?
Possibly – many contracts and legal systems allow extraordinary termination for good cause, such as a long-term medical condition (attach a doctor’s note). Check your contract terms, enter your preferred date and explain the reason in a short cover note.
Where do I find my membership number?
On your membership card, in the welcome letter, in the gym’s app or on the direct debit line of your bank statement. Your full name and date of birth usually work too – the number just speeds things up.
